Development & Infrastructure Projects

Both public and private sector clients work with our team in the delivery of large projects. We advise on every aspect of often complex projects, from screening for an environmental impact assessment through to preparing for a public inquiry.

In addition to standalone advice for clients involved in particularly environmentally sensitive projects such as wastewater treatment plants, the team works closely with colleagues throughout the firm to advise on the environmental aspects of all types of major infrastructure and development projects.

Our experience in this area includes advising on flood alleviation schemes, major infrastructure projects for the water and waste sectors, sustainable commercial and residential developments, conventional and renewable energy generation and transmission projects.  Our experience extends to offshore as well as onshore projects and to applications for development consent orders for major infrastructure projects.  By maintaining a broad view of the project’s goals at all times, we ensure environmental matters help to deliver, not delay, the project.

Clients have praised our proactive role in particular through our rigorous scrutiny of all aspects of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process. Engaging the team's detailed and careful preparation at an early stage in this process helps reduce the risk of EIA based objections later on.
