On Friday 11 September, a team of volunteers from our Glasgow office ditched their suits and put on their gardening gloves to help the team at Quarriers Family Resource Centre in Ruchazie, Glasgow transform their garden.
Staff and families supported by the centre also got involved to clear overgrown areas, build raised vegetable beds and plant new shrubs to make it a better outdoor space for the families and children.
Quarriers Employee Challenges successfully link groups of volunteers from companies to help improve local Quarriers services, often as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. In this instance, Dundas & Wilson made a donation to fund the improvements, along with some man power to help make it happen.
Trevor Chandler, Service Co-ordinator at the family centre said: “It’s so good to get some help doing our garden up. It will mean so much for the families and children that come here as they’ll now be able to make use of the space that we have.”
Our CSR Officer, Emily Catterwell said: “As a company we are committed to assisting worthy causes within the communities in which we operate and we were delighted to help Quarriers in improving their garden. The Centre does such fantastic work in supporting families in the local community and we hope that our assistance really helps to enhance the value of such a wonderful community resource for years to come.”
