Stopover gets a splash of colour

On 27 November, Quarriers Stopover service was given a splash colour, courtesy of Dundas & Wilson's Glasgow Projects team.

Six of our colleagues worked hard all day as they painted three key corridors that run throughout the centre.

Stopover supports 16-25 year old young people who have nowhere else to go through crisis accommodation. They each receive individual support to help them get back on their feet again. Stopover is a residential centre where they’re able to offer a young person a bedroom within a communal living environment.

Brian McMenemy, Depute Manager at Stopover said: “This challenge is a huge benefit to the young people and it will really brighten the place up. It’s a positive experience for the staff and young people and a huge opportunity as a service to have such a large company involved with us.”

Eleanor Lane, Senior Associate at Dundas & Wilson said “Stopover is a very worthwhile cause - not only does it provide accommodation for young people in times of crisis but its staff work tirelessly to improve the prospects of those young people once they move on. It was fantastic to have the opportunity to contribute some of our time and resources to this project and to help ensure that Stopover continues to remain a benefit to local communities in Glasgow."

Our CSR Officer, Emily Catterwell said: "Dundas & Wilson is committed to supporting worthy causes within its local communities and when we were given the opportunity to assist with some decorating at Stopover we jumped at the chance. Stopover really is an asset to the local communities it serves and I think I speak on behalf of all volunteers from Dundas & Wilson when I say that we were all inspired and humbled by our experience. We really hope that our assistance helps to enhance the value of such a wonderful community resource for years to come and that the residents enjoy their newly painted surroundings."
