Environmental Initiatives and Credentials
- In 2008, we became members of the Legal Sector Alliance - an inclusive movement of law firms and organisations committed to working collaboratively to take action on climate change by reducing their carbon footprint and adopting environmentally sustainable practices
- Calculation of our first carbon footprint for FY 07/08 using the LSA Carbon Footprinting tool
- Introduction of enhanced recycling schemes in all of our offices, recycling:
- office furniture
- paper and cardboard
- plastic
- cans
- glass
- light bulbs
- batteries
- toner cartridges
- Introduction of PIR controlled lighting in our Edinburgh office space (43,000 sq ft) reducing electricity consumption by approximately 20%
- Enhancement of video conferencing facilities throughout the practice to reduce inter-office travel
- Introduction of Pure Water filtration system in all of our offices
- In March 2008 we were awarded with a Gold Award for Environmental Excellent by Edinburgh City Council
