Training
At the beginning of your traineeship you will take part in a
comprehensive induction that provides you with all the information
you need to get off to a good start with D&W.
Before starting each new seat you will receive extensive training
in that practice area. You will also receive training in core
skills such as client care, time management and legal writing.
All Scottish-based trainees must complete the Professional
Competence Course (PCC). We are one of only a small number
of firms accredited to provide this in-house. Trainees in our
London office receive their Professional Skills Course (PSC)
from an external provider.
The teams in each practice area have their own training programme
for their fee-earners, and trainees are encouraged to participate
in these. Further training courses from, for example our Business
Development Team, which runs training in areas such as business
development skills and presentation skills, are also available.
