Dundas & Wilson has announced the expansion of their London banking team with the appointment of project finance specialist Hugo Coetzee as partner. He joins Dundas & Wilson after three years as London banking partner at Bevan Brittan. Before that, he spent eight years as part of Norton Rose’s finance group.
Dundas & Wilson is a Top 10 legal adviser in UK infrastructure projects* and has a strong national energy & utilities practice with excellent profile in the renewables, water and nuclear sectors. Coetzee will work with senior banking partner Michael Stoneham, and with the firm’s planning, projects and construction & engineering groups, on the financing of these projects and sectors.
His appointment adds project finance to the firm’s London banking coverage which already includes corporate banking, acquisition finance, property finance and financial services.
Michael Stoneham commented: “Despite current turbulence in the financial sector and difficult general economic conditions, the UK infrastructure and energy markets remain areas of continuing activity and opportunity, and we certainly aim to build on our national reputation in projects, and indeed expand our projects activity overseas, in the short to medium term.
“Hugo is a key element in this development, which is a part of an expanding Dundas & Wilson London capability across all our areas of excellence.”
