Dundas & Wilson Moonwalks for Maggie’s

Date:
22 Jun 2008

Leading UK law firm Dundas & Wilson is well used to burning the midnight oil to complete the latest large transactions, but a group of 19 individuals at the firm took it even further on Saturday by walking a marathon through the night to raise money for Maggie’s cancer charity.

The D&W team took part in the Edinburgh MoonWalk, trekking 26.2 miles around the capital city. And in true MoonWalk tradition, they wore decorated bras all the way around the course to show their support for the charity event, now in its third year.

Jim Moser, D&W’s director of learning and professional development, was the only man on the team, but even he got in on the act by wearing a decorated, stuffed bra.

The team, a mixture of MoonWalk rookies and veterans, set off with 12,000 other walkers at midnight on Saturday.

Emily Catterwell, D&W’s corporate social responsibility officer, said the team had taken the walk and Maggie’s - D&W’s 2008 charity of the year - to its heart.

She said: “The D&W Moonwalk team have worked hard to raise as much money as possible for Maggie’s. We are confident that the MoonWalk will push us closer to our target of raising £50,000 for Maggie’s, which we are now very close to hitting.

“Sparkly bras might be more associated with cabaret singers than lawyers, but we couldn’t miss the chance to raise money for a charity so close to our hearts while doing something which was such good fun.”
