A D&W Partner for over 27 years, David is recognised as one of the country's leading corporate and commercial lawyers. He has extensive experience of corporate deals and contracts including M&A transactions and joint ventures. In particular, David has assisted UK companies in buying or selling businesses abroad and foreign companies in buying or selling UK businesses. He is also a Notary Public and an office bearer (Fiscal) of The Society of Writers to her Majesty's Signet. David has a keen interest in Corporate Social Responsibility, is Chairman of the D&W Foundation and is Head of Venture Philanthropy of Inspiring Scotland (a new venture philanthropy fund).

David has been appointed by the Lord President of the Court of Session in Edinburgh to act as a "reporter" to the Court on company matters such as schemes of arrangement.
