Michael is Head of D&W's Corporate Group. He specialises in supporting the corporate finance needs of our clients and has been heavily involved in the financial services, real estate and technology sectors for a number of years.

Acted for Bank of Scotland in formation and funding of joint venture vehicle for the public to private acquisition by scheme of arrangement of Wyevale Garden Centres plc and on the subsequent recommended offer for Blooms of Bressingham plc.

Acted on successful defence against a hostile takeover and subsequent reconstruction of Securities Trust of Scotland and a number of investment trust re-organisations including a tender offer for Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust plc (>£500m).

Acted for Bank of Scotland in the formation and funding of a joint venture to acquire the Savoy Hotel (>£200m) and in the subsequent formation of a £800m European joint venture to acquire luxury hotels.
