Professional Experience
Colin Boyd (Rt Hon Lord Boyd of Duncansby QC) is a former Lord Advocate and Solicitor General for Scotland. He was called to the Bar in 1983 and established a practice in planning and administrative law. He was made a Privy Counsellor in 2000 and created a Life Peer in 2006. He joined Dundas & Wilson in 2007 becoming a solicitor advocate. He is a member of the Commission on Scottish Devolution (the Calman Commission) and an Honorary Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow.
Credential Highlights
As Lord Advocate, head of the prosecution system and principal Law Officer in Scotland advising Ministers on a wide range of issues including on constitutional and administrative law.

As counsel for the Trump organisation at the public local inquiry for a proposed golf course resort at Menie Aberdeenshire.

As part of a team advising Shetland Islands Council on issues of governance of oil monies, the relationship with various trusts and related state aid issues.
