Privatisations, PPPs and Outsourcings
Opportunities for the private sector to invest in and work with public sector
bodies are constantly evolving. Whether full-scale externalisations, the letting
of capital intensive concessions or revenue resourced outsourcings our projects
lawyers deliver contractual solutions to meet evolving needs. Since the inception
of PFI we have successfully closed over 70 PFI projects across sectors and
working with bidding consortia, funders and public sector sponsors in equal
proportions.

Utilities
Whether through providing regulatory or transaction related advice we have been
at the heart of the evolution of the electricity and water sectors in Scotland
and have developed key relationships with each of Scottish and Southern Energy
and Scottish Water. We are also active in supporting Oil and Gas financings and
also the Renewable Energy sector.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Government
We provide procurement advice and transaction support to numerous public sector
bodies including local authorities and universities. We also support private
sector organisations delivering services to the public sector. We have a unique
partnering agreement with Stirling Council supporting its in-house legal department.

Transport
Working closely with our Planning and Transportation team, we have a growing
involvement in the development of new Transport solutions in Scotland. For
example, we are supporting the Scottish Executive in the letting of new ferry
concessions in the Northern and Western Isles, and we are working with tie Ltd
on Edinburgh's £1.5 billion Integrated Transport Initiative which includes
the new Tram projects and also Congestion Charging.
