Director of Learning and Professional Development
What did you do before life at Dundas & Wilson?
Was there a life before then? I have a vague recollection of being a commercial property lawyer at Burness then spending three years teaching and studying abroad. Before that is all a blur I'm afraid.
What were your first impressions of Dundas & Wilson?
This was 1997 and I can barely recall last week. However I do recall the blinds in my room - remember those?- had been shut tight by the previous occupant for about 50 years - lots of dust. There was a great buzz of excitement round the place as we had just linked up with Andersens.
What is/are your favourite thing(s) about working for Dundas & Wilson?
My job - it's great!
What are your aspirations both in and out of Dundas & Wilson?
In - to make us a top UK learning and development practice. Out - other than winning the Pulitzer Prize, to persuade my son Oscar that we are not living in a video being watched by his imaginary friends.
What are the 3 best pieces of advice you have been given that you would pass on to others?
Learn as much as you can about everything you can - knowledge is power and not being ignorant helps too!
Always have respect and empathy for and with others - especially the Head of Training!
Have standards and stick to them.
What's your most memorable occasion at Dundas & Wilson?
A male lawyer wearing a nun's costume in one of our training seminars.
